At Adiwana Resort Jembawan, sustainability is thoughtfully woven into the way we care for our surroundings, our community, and every guest who stays with us. We are pleased to share that the resort has been awarded the Eco Climate Badge Gold Certification by Eco Tourism Bali, recognizing our commitment to sustainable hospitality in Ubud and responsible tourism in Bali.
Nestled in the serene heart of Ubud, Adiwana Resort Jembawan continues to embrace environmentally conscious practices designed to reduce our environmental footprint while preserving the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. This recognition reflects the dedication of our team in creating an eco-friendly resort experience in Ubud, where thoughtful hospitality and sustainability go hand in hand.
Sustainability at the resort is not only practiced behind the scenes. During their stay, guests are also invited to participate in small yet meaningful actions that contribute to protecting Bali’s natural environment.
Sustainability Practices at Adiwana Resort Jembawan
Plastic-Free Initiatives
Reducing plastic waste is one of the resort’s key environmental priorities. We implement plastic-free alternatives whenever possible, including the use of refillable glass bottles in guest rooms.
At our restaurant Herb Library, takeaway packaging is designed with sustainability in mind. We use biodegradable takeaway boxes and cups, along with cassava-based biodegradable straws, as environmentally friendly alternatives to single-use plastic.
Organic Food Waste Management
Through collaboration with Rumah Kompos, organic food waste generated at the resort is transformed into solid and liquid compost. These natural fertilizers are used to nourish plants in the Sacred Forest area, the resort gardens, and community gardens in Padangtegal. This initiative supports a circular waste management system while contributing to the preservation of Ubud’s natural environment.
Saving Water & Energy
Mindful use of resources is encouraged through gentle reminders placed in guest rooms as well as several public areas throughout the resort. These reminders invite guests to participate in simple practices such as turning off lights and air conditioning when leaving their rooms, helping reduce unnecessary water and energy consumption.
Towel & Bedsheet Reuse Program
Guests are invited to participate in our linen and towel reuse program during their stay. By choosing to reuse linens, guests help reduce water usage, energy consumption, and detergent waste associated with daily laundry operations.
Local Community Support
At Herb Library, our culinary philosophy highlights ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers, supporting the surrounding agricultural community.
The restaurant also hosts cultural evenings every Friday, where guests can experience Balinese Dance and cuisine in an authentic setting. In addition, the resort collaborates with a local salsa community to host social dance gatherings every Tuesday and Wednesday, creating a lively cultural exchange between guests and the local community.
Beyond the resort, we also work closely with local transport community vendors, providing transportation and tour services for guests who wish to explore the cultural and natural attractions of Ubud. By partnering with local drivers and tour providers, we aim to support economic growth within the Ubud area while offering guests authentic and memorable travel experiences.
Waste Separation System
Waste separation bins are placed throughout the resort to ensure proper sorting of organic and non-organic waste. This system supports responsible recycling and composting practices, helping reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
At Adiwana Resort Jembawan, sustainability is a shared journey between our team, our guests, and the local community. Receiving the Eco Climate Badge Gold certification from Eco Tourism Bali marks an important milestone in our continued commitment to sustainable hospitality in Bali.
By working together with our guests, community partners, and local businesses, we strive to ensure that every stay contributes to a greener future while supporting responsible tourism in Ubud.
