Silence In Paradise – Nyepi at Adiwana Svarga Loka

Nyepi in Adiwana Svarga Loka

Ubud, Bali – Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, marks the Balinese New Year based on the Saka calendar and is deeply rooted in Balinese Hindu cosmology. Rather than being defined by a fixed Gregorian date, Nyepi falls one day after Tilem Kesanga, the new moon of the ninth lunar month, and signifies the transition into Sasih Kedasa in the Balinese lunar cycle.

This sacred day is devoted to self-reflection, spiritual purification, and renewal. For 24 hours, the entire island of Bali comes to a complete standstill. There are no flights, no traffic, no lights, and no entertainment, allowing the island to return to a state of stillness and balance. The silence is observed through the practice of Catur Brata Penyepian: Amati Geni (no fire or light), Amati Karya (no work), Amati Lelungan (no travel), and Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment).

In 2026, Nyepi will begin on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 5:59 AM and conclude on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 6:00 AM.

In honor of this profound tradition, Adiwana Svarga Loka invites guests to experience a transformative retreat in the heart of Ubud. Nestled along the sacred Campuhan river valley, Adiwana Svarga Loka offers a serene sanctuary where nature, spirituality, and wellness harmoniously come together.
